Severe Toothache
Rinse with warm water and floss gently to dislodge trapped food. Take over-the-counter pain relief as directed — never place aspirin directly on the gum. Call us right away, as ongoing pain often signals infection.
Knocked-Out Tooth
Handle the tooth by the crown, not the root. Gently rinse it, and if possible place it back in the socket or keep it in milk. Time is critical — reach us immediately, ideally within 30–60 minutes.
Cracked or Broken Tooth
Rinse with warm water and apply a cold compress to reduce swelling. Save any pieces if you can. Avoid chewing on that side until we can see you and protect the tooth.
Lost Filling or Crown
Keep the crown if you have it. You can cover the exposed area with dental wax for comfort and avoid hard or sticky foods. Call us to have it re-secured before the tooth is damaged further.
Abscess or Swelling
A painful, swollen area or a pimple-like bump on the gum can signal a serious infection. Rinse with mild salt water and call us promptly — abscesses need timely treatment.
Soft-Tissue Injury
For cuts to the lips, cheeks, or tongue, clean the area and apply gentle pressure with gauze to control bleeding. If bleeding won't stop, seek emergency medical care and call us.
